We work with athletes of all ages and skill levels. No matter your age, experience, or personal goals, pole vaulting can be an incredibly thrilling athletic experience. If you're a parent, or an athlete, here's what you'll need to know to get started with UTPVA.

Step 1 - Come meet us!

Call Head Coach Kody Pierce at (801)514-0648 to set up a facility visit & assessment.
Sign up for a single session (only $20) so you can come try it out & decide whether pole vaulting & UTPVA are right for you! The facility visit and assessment gives those who are brand new to the pole vault an opportunity to try it out and it gives our coaches the opportunity to assess seasoned athletes individual needs and how we can help them achieve their pole vaulting goals. That way you know whether or not you would lik eto continue with us for drop-ins or a seasoned membership. 

Step 2 - Register as a new member.  

CLICK HERE to fill out the forms & waivers needed to become an official member of UTPVA.
This includes the Kojo Sports Building Use Liability Waiver, the Utah Pole Vault Academy Liability Waiver, Photographic Release, and the emergency contact sheet.

*As a note, there is an annual $35/year facility use fee to be pid by January 31st or 1 week after beginning practices with us.

Step 3 - Choose the Training Option that fits you best 

  • Drop-in session:  
    • $20/practice
    • ​Access to poles during practice
    • 1.5 hour regular group practice session
    • Video analysis
  • 1 Month Membership:
    • $150/month
    • Access to poles during practice
    • Access to poles for competitions
    • Up to 3 regular group practice sessions per week
    • Video analysis
    • Priority practice reservation
    • Discounts on all Club events
      **Monthly memberships must be purchased no later than 1 week into the month. 
  • Season Membership (3-month):
    • $375 ($125/month) 
    • Access to poles during practice
    • Access to poles for competitions
    • Up to 3 regular group practice sessions per week
    • Video Analysis
    • Priority practice reservation
    • Discounts on all club events
      **Seasonal memberships must be purchased no later than 1 week into the season. 
      (Seasons: September 1 - November 30, December 1 - February 29, March 1 - May 31, June 1 - August 31)
  • Private Session:
    • $40/practice
    • Access to poles during practice
    • Private practice session (1.5 hrs)

Step 4 - Get a membership with USA Track and Field.

We are a USATF sanctioned club & facility.  By getting a USATF membership, it will allow you to participate in all of our practices, competitions, camps, and clinics. To become a member, simply go to usatf.org and register. A USATF membership does cost $20 a year. 

Step 5 - Reserve your spot for practice!   

You must contact our head coach Kody Pierce to reserve your spot for practices ahead of time. Priority goes to our Seasonal and Monthly membership holders. Our current practice schedule can be found on the home page. It is best to reserve your spot a week in advance.

**We reserve the right to charge any athlete a $20 late cancellation fee. Let us know as soon as possible if you have reserved a spot and cannot make it. 

What to bring: 
-Comfortable workout clothes
-Comfortable workout shoes
-Track spikes if you have them (1/4" pyramid)
-Water bottle and/or Electrolyte drink
-Poles if you'd like, or use ours

What to expect: 
-Lots of fun
-Lots of learning & improvement
-Lots of new friends
-We have showers if you need them after your workout

Step 6 - Connect with us on the group chat

We communicate all club updates, practice schedules, practice reservations, etc. through our GroupMe chat.

Payment information

Annual Kojo Sports Facility Use Fee: $35/calendar year 
All athletes must also have an annual Kojo Sports Facility membership. This fee covers an annual use of the building. 
**Must be paid by January 31st or within 1 week of beginning practices with UTPVA
